BlockBeats news, September 29: Tesla has postponed the unveiling event for its next-generation Roadster sports car from October 1 to October 15. The company said the decision to reschedule was made because forecasts indicate severe weather will occur in the area, and the event must be held outdoors. The event is still expected to take place at SpaceX's test site in McGregor, Texas.
Possibly affected by this, Tesla closed today at $357.45, down 3.94%, while TSLA on Hyperliquid during the overnight session was last quoted at $357.8. Separately, according to TradingBeats monitoring, during the regular U.S. stock trading session on September 28, the estimated trading volume of Trade[XYZ]'s TSLA perpetual contract on Hyperliquid was about $17.52 million, down about 27% compared with the same period on the previous trading day.
During the same period, JPMorgan lowered its Tesla target price from $445 to $415, a reduction of about 6.7%, while maintaining a "Neutral" rating. The market is also cautious about the upcoming third-quarter production and delivery data, with Cantor Fitzgerald expecting the related data may be weak. This round of decline may have been compounded by the product event delay, the target price cut, and pressure from delivery expectations.
