The Information says OpenAI is developing a feature directly targeting Grok Bot, and has also discussed a personal AI assistant targeting Meta Muse. The related products may reuse existing Agent technology from ChatGPT and Codex, running tasks continuously in the background and even completing them over multiple days.

The community had previously discovered gpt-6-astra-aeon in Codex, along with internal instructions describing Aeon as a "persistent background Agent." As a result, some speculate that Aeon may be an internal codename, while "o" is the user-facing product name.
