Anthropic Gives Claude Code Users Cloud Credits: $100 for Pro, $250 for Max

Beating AI News Flash: Anthropic has announced that Claude Code Cloud Sessions is moving from research preview to general availability. It runs Claude Code in Anthropic's cloud environment, allowing tasks to continue even after your computer is turned off. Users can launch it from the web, mobile, desktop, or CLI.

Existing Pro and Max users can also claim a one-time dedicated credit, $100 for Pro and $250 for Max. This credit is only for Cloud Sessions and is separate from regular subscription usage limits. Even if local Claude Code has already hit its usage limit, cloud tasks can continue running until this credit is used up. The claim deadline is October 7, and the credit expires on November 4.

This is not a change that turns the original cloud feature into a separate paid offering. Anthropic's current documentation clearly states that Cloud Sessions still normally shares subscription usage limits with Claude and Claude Code, and there are no additional cloud VM fees. After the complimentary credit is used up, usage returns to the normal subscription limits.
