Zhipu ZCode officially goes open source, with the company stating it has completed security rectification and passed audits by two institutions.

BlockBeats news, September 21: Zhipu's ZCode has officially been open-sourced. Zhipu stated that in response to previous community feedback regarding product security issues, rectification has now been completed, and the code has been open-sourced for community oversight.

The official statement said that ZCode v3.14.0 has removed the Repo Wiki feature, cutting off the local repository snapshot generation and upload pipeline. After the rectification was completed, Zhipu invited the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology and NSFOCUS to conduct a security audit. Both institutions confirmed that the relevant cloud data has been cleared, and the new client version was found to have no functional paths that could trigger local repository snapshots or file exfiltration.

Regarding the code data issues previously raised by the community, Zhipu once again promised that the relevant code data is "not retained, nor has it ever been used for model training." Going forward, ZCode will establish a regular security vulnerability feedback mechanism and provide corresponding rewards to developers based on the severity of the issues.
