Jensen Huang: AI Companies Warning of Doomsday May Have Ulterior Motives; No Need for More Regulation, Just Enforce Existing Laws

Beating AI News Flash: Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said in an interview with CBS that some AI company executives' warnings that AI may endanger humanity and their calls for strengthened regulation are "not sincere" and "may have other motives" behind them. He believes that these AI companies are not truly asking for more laws to be enacted, but rather want to escape existing regulation.

Huang said that scaring the public with the claim that AI may bring catastrophe is "neither responsible nor necessary." He also said that the U.S. AI industry does not need to slow down its pace of development, otherwise it may give China a chance to catch up; the focus of regulation should be "enforcing existing laws and regulations," not adding new regulatory measures.

Previously, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei called for slowing down frontier AI development, arguing that more adequate risk prevention measures should be established; OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk have also expressed concern about related initiatives.

Land, electricity, shell and construction resources will be the main bottlenecks.
The future of competition is not only about whose model is bigger, whose computing power is stronger, but also about who understands the industry better, who can more deeply integrate AI into real processes, and who can organize these capabilities into a set of executable, scalable systems
The real danger is never AI itself, but those who believe they have the right to define the human destiny.
