Trump recently called Huang, who was attending the All-In Summit in Los Angeles, and said that "robots will not take over the world," while calling the growing concerns about AI and data centers a "hoax."

Major Nvidia customers such as OpenAI and Anthropic have recently called for slowing down the development of frontier AI models and strengthening regulation. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei proposed slowing the pace of improving model capabilities, gaining support from OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Musk, and Google DeepMind head Demis Hassabis. Huang takes a different position, arguing that catastrophic predictions lack a scientific basis, that model developers should ensure safety before product releases, and that solving related problems requires relying on "traditional engineering methods."

Trump's recent stance on AI safety issues is increasingly echoing Huang. The two have appeared publicly together at least six times during Trump's second term, and U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent said this week that Trump's position on AI is completely aligned with Huang's.
