BlockBeats news, September 20 - According to data obtained by Bloomberg, the quarterly rebalancing of the Nasdaq 100 Index is set to take effect next Monday (September 21), at which point SpaceX's weight in the index will rise to 2.82%, a significant increase from its current weight of about 1.28%.
This final weight was calculated based on last Friday's closing price and is consistent with the provisional weight previously announced by the index compiler and reported by Bloomberg.
The weight increase is expected to begin narrowing an unusual gap. By market capitalization, SpaceX ranks as the seventh-largest company in the Nasdaq 100 Index at over $2 trillion, but by current index weight, it does not even rank in the top 20.
