Jensen Huang: Probability of AI causing human extinction by 2030 is '0%'

Beating AI News Flash: NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang recently said in an interview with CBS News that he disagrees with predictions that AI will cause human extinction by 2030, and stated that "2030 cannot be the end of the world," putting the probability of AI causing the world to end in 2030 at "0%."

Huang said AI technology can be managed safely, and the industry should not slow down development because of potential risks. "We should move as fast as we can," but products must never be brought to market before they are ready or if they pose safety hazards.

Previously, when Anthropic employee Jacob Coxon left the company, he warned that researchers developing AI "genuinely believe AI could kill all of us by the end of this decade," triggering a new round of discussion about AI safety risks.

Huang has recently spoken publicly about AI safety issues multiple times, while also opposing slowing AI development because of potential risks. Bloomberg said that as CEO of NVIDIA, a major global supplier of AI chips, Huang has consistently opposed AI doomerism.
