Zhipu ZCode Responds to Full Repository Upload Controversy: Repo Wiki Enabled by Default Blamed, Promises to Open-Source Client

When Repo Wiki generates Wiki pages, it may upload repository data to the cloud; after the pages are generated, the relevant data is immediately destroyed and not retained.

The company states that this feature was enabled by default in its early launch phase, thus affecting some users, and the related issues have now been fixed. ZCode's current official documentation explicitly states that Repo Wiki will not read .git, dependency directories, build artifacts, or caches, and will only send filtered code content on demand.

Previously, community reverse engineering found that ZCode would take snapshots of projects in the background, potentially packaging and uploading .git, Git history, and LFS caches together.

ZCode also announced that it will open-source its code in the near future and invite third-party evaluators to review the system's operations, with review progress to be made public subsequently. As compensation, all users will receive an additional weekly quota reset, to be distributed today.
