Muse launches on Mac, reaching into users' local files and apps.

动察 Beating AI News Flash: Meta has launched Muse for Mac, the first version of Muse that can work directly on a user's computer. It can handle local files and also read Mail, Messages, Calendar, Notes, and other apps. For example, it can organize folders, summarize emails and chats, or use local files to continue filling out forms.

Muse previously ran in cloud virtual machines provided by Meta, using browsers and connectors to shop, send emails, and order food for users. Now the Mac version has further gained the ability to operate local files and system apps.

Full disk access is left up to the user to decide whether to grant. For sensitive operations such as deleting files and sending messages, Muse still requires user confirmation first. Currently, the Mac version is still only available in the United States.

Meta actually already launched Meta AI for Mac last month, but that product was more focused on screen-based Q&A and global voice input. Muse for Mac is more like a true desktop Agent that can directly take action on the user's behalf.
