Claude Code blatantly copied Cursor down to the pixel, didn't even bother to rename Projects.

Beating AI News Flash: Anthropic has revamped Claude Projects, and the result looks almost identical to the feature of the same name that Cursor launched a week earlier.

Cursor lets a master control Agent act as project manager. It does not write code itself, but only breaks down tasks, sets plans, and then distributes the work to multiple Agents for parallel completion. Tasks run long-term in the cloud and continue even if the computer is turned off; all Agents share the project context and can automatically spin up local Agents when needed.

Claude's new Projects basically follows this same approach. A master control Agent also breaks down tasks and verifies results, while multiple Claude Code sessions run simultaneously underneath; each session independently modifies code, runs tests, and submits PRs, shares project memory, and keeps working even if the computer is off.

Cursor Projects launched on September 10, while Claude Projects was only released on September 17. Right now, Cursor even still has more features, so it seems 7 days was only enough for Claude to copy most of it, but not all.
