动察 Beating AI News Flash: OpenAI launches Astra for Law, turning GPT-6 Astra into a version specifically designed for legal work. It adds legal search, analysis, and writing capabilities, helping lawyers look up case law, analyze cases, draft documents, and integrate with law firms' existing workflows.
OpenAI has also built a new legal search index that can query more than 230 million URLs, including U.S. case law, statutes, and court rules, covering over 99.9% of publicly available U.S. precedent rulings.
On 200 U.S. legal research questions, Astra for Law achieved an overall accuracy rate of 54.0%, while standard GPT-6 Astra with web search scored 38.7%, a relative improvement of about 40%. On case law questions, it also found 24% more relevant reference cases.
Astra for Law will first be opened to select U.S. law firms, appearing as GPT-6 Astra Law in ChatGPT and Codex, with API access to follow. Legal AI companies such as Harvey and Legora can also integrate it into their own products. OpenAI has also launched 26 legal industry plugins that can access professional legal data and tools such as Thomson Reuters, Relativity, and Clio.
