BlockBeats news, September 17, CryptoQuant analyst Axel Adler Jr. posted that BTC is currently trading at around $76,200, while the average cost basis for short-term holders who have held for no more than 6 months is about $71,300, with BTC price only about 7% above the short-term holder cost basis.
Data shows that over the past week, the gap between BTC price and the short-term holder cost basis has continued to narrow, with the profit buffer for short-term holders dropping from 10% to 7%.
Axel Adler Jr. said that between September 10 and 17, the average value of the BTC short-term holder exchange profit and loss indicator fell by about 96%, approaching zero, meaning that when short-term holders transfer BTC to exchanges, the ratio of profit-taking sales to loss-cutting sales is trending toward balance.
If BTC falls below the $71,300 short-term holder average cost, and the exchange inflow profit and loss indicator turns negative, it may mean that short-term holders as a whole fall into losses and face greater selling pressure.
