Bitcoin Core 32.0 enters final testing, official release scheduled for October 10.

BlockBeats news, September 16 — Bitcoin Core 32.0 has entered its final testing phase, with the first release candidate published on September 14 and the official version scheduled for release on October 10. This version will not change Bitcoin's consensus rules, primarily adjusting transaction fee estimation, block processing, and the way wallets construct transactions.

The new version will add a fee estimator based on unconfirmed transactions and compare results with historical block estimates, recommending lower fees when network conditions allow. When nodes validate blocks, they can also read the database in parallel through multiple threads, using 8 threads by default, to shorten the time needed to catch up with the blockchain. Four commands related to partially signed Bitcoin transactions will use the PSBT v2 format by default.

Developers also fixed a wallet vulnerability that has existed on non-Windows systems since Bitcoin Core 24.0, which under certain configurations could allow privileged users to execute host commands. In addition, a memory exhaustion issue in the new web server was also fixed before the official release.
