Former White House AI Policy Advisor Joins Anthropic to Lead Frontier Compute Strategy

Beating AI News Flash: Former White House Senior Policy Advisor for AI and Emerging Technologies Sihao Huang has announced his joining of Anthropic as Head of Frontier Compute Strategy. He will work directly with co-founder and Chief Compute Officer Tom Brown, overseeing infrastructure expansion, external partnerships, and long-term compute planning.

Huang previously led the AI team at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, with his work also involving national security, research policy, and semiconductors. When he left the White House in June this year, The Information only reported that he would enter the private sector, and his destination was not disclosed at the time.

Anthropic has continued to expand its compute this year, having reached partnerships with Amazon, Google, Broadcom, SpaceX, and others, and has just signed Australia's first data center lease agreement, with the campus planned for a capacity of 2.16GW.
