AI runaway anxiety lands on the cover of TIME, as the deceleration debate fully enters the mainstream.

Beating AI News Flash: Time magazine's latest issue features AI risk as its cover story, with the headline directly titled "The AI Tipping Point." The cover even uses a Claude input box to ask, "How dangerous are you?"

Over the past week, an Anthropic researcher resigned over concerns about AI going out of control, and tech leaders such as Amodei, Altman, and Musk have publicly called for slowing down, with the debate quickly drawing in everyone from the White House to Congress. What was once a debate largely confined to the AI safety community—whether superintelligence could go out of control—is now becoming a mainstream political and social issue in the United States.
