0x: Uniswap v4 Hooks design has issues, some trades execute up to 50% lower than quoted.

BlockBeats news, September 15: DEX aggregation protocol 0x posted, "Uniswap v4 Hooks are a mistake." The protocol stated that malicious Hooks have increased significantly in recent weeks, which can display one exchange rate during the quote phase and use another rate at settlement, thereby deceiving aggregators, wallets, and trading applications.

After conducting static analysis, dynamic analysis, and actual transaction observations on 84,163 Hooks across 6 chains, 0x found that only 19.4% were judged safe, 54.2% were malicious, and another 26.4% were suspected malicious. For some transactions routed through malicious Hooks, the actual assets obtained were up to 50% lower than the quote users saw.

0x has routed 81.92 million transactions this year, with a transaction volume of $42.67 billion, of which about 70% involved Uniswap liquidity. The protocol stated that it has prevented suspicious pools from entering routing through detection technology and liquidity pool review, and recommends that routers verify quotes against actual execution results, while applications should have the ability to quickly remove suspicious routes.
