BlockBeats news, September 14: U.S. President Trump posted a statement criticizing Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei's recent remarks about slowing the development of frontier AI, calling them "self-serving" and accusing him of prior misconduct.
Trump said the U.S. government has already stopped Dario and other AI "figures" from doing some "bad things," while Dario is now "pretending to be a perfect little angel," and said this behavior will continue.
Previously, Amodei had publicly called on the AI industry to slow the pace of frontier model development and warned that rapid AI progress could bring serious risks. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Tesla CEO Musk, and others subsequently expressed varying degrees of support.
Trump has repeatedly emphasized that the United States must maintain its lead in AI and be wary of overregulation slowing America's AI competition with Asian countries.
