Insider: Iran and Oman Reach Understanding, but Strait of Hormuz Will Not Reopen

BlockBeats news, September 13 — According to informed sources cited by Iran's Tasnim News Agency, after intensive consultations, Iran and Oman have reached an understanding on the entry and exit routes and transit arrangements for the Strait of Hormuz, and the relevant agreement is expected to be officially announced soon.

Under the arrangement, the route entering the Persian Gulf will be entirely within Iranian territorial waters, and part of the route leaving the Persian Gulf will also be within Iranian territorial waters, with vessels transiting according to arrangements made by the Iranian side. The source stressed that this understanding does not mean the Strait of Hormuz will reopen, and the southern route that the United States insists on opening will remain closed.
