OpenAI founder: Agrees with Anthropic CEO's view that progress in frontier AI models needs to slow down

BlockBeats news, September 13: OpenAI founder Sam Altman stated, "I agree with Dario Amodei (Anthropic CEO) that we need to control the progress of frontier models. This has been a major topic of discussion at OpenAI recently. Committing to give independent evaluators access similar to that of employees is a good idea, and we will do the same. We will have more to share soon."

Previously, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei published a long article stating that the industry must slow down the pace of improving AI model capabilities. Slowing the pace does not mean stopping model training or technological progress, but rather ensuring that companies have enough time for alignment and to protect models.

Dario Amodei also proposed that frontier AI companies within democratic nations coordinate to establish common safety standards.
