OpenAI launches Data Agent: Query corporate databases and build data dashboards without knowing SQL.

Beating AI News: OpenAI has launched Data Agent on ChatGPT Work. Employees can directly ask "Why did sales drop?" or "Which batch of customers is most likely to churn?" and it will retrieve company data on its own, analyze the causes, and even generate data dashboards that update with the data.

It can connect to databases such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Redshift, and MongoDB, and can also read Google Drive and SharePoint. It will also follow the company's existing definitions and permissions for metrics such as "active users" and "revenue," avoiding different results for the same metric calculated by different people.

After analysis, it can also send results to Slack or email, and continue to execute follow-up actions after user approval. OpenAI says that nearly all of the company's product teams, as well as more than two-thirds of sales, marketing, and other teams, are already using this type of Data Agent.
