Trump Says $5,000 'Election Dividend' Does Not Need Congressional Approval

BlockBeats news, September 11: According to a report by CBS News, U.S. President Trump previously proposed an idea that if Republicans can retain control of the House and Senate after the midterm elections, a $5,000 "Trump dividend" would be issued to every U.S. citizen.

On the day after proposing the idea, when a reporter asked whether this money would require congressional approval, Trump said: "Well, we don't think so. If it does, they'll certainly do it, but we don't think it's necessary. The country currently has good momentum, and we have obtained trillions of dollars in revenue through tariffs and other channels. Today, the total amount of manufacturing factory construction and various other investments in the United States has exceeded $20 trillion, a scale far greater than any previous period. We think this is a good thing. However, we have one precondition, which is that the funds must be spent domestically in the United States—we do not want this money flowing to other countries. We think this is a very good measure, widely popular, and it will also inject strong momentum into the economy."
