David Sacks says Anthropic IPO must be paused until 'internal whistleblower' allegations are investigated

Beating AI News Flash: David Sacks, Chairman of the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, stated that obviously, Anthropic's initial public offering (IPO) must be paused until the allegations against this "internal whistleblower" are investigated.

The "internal whistleblower" refers to former Anthropic researcher Jacob Coxon. He previously did pre-training research at OpenAI, joined Anthropic in July 2026, stayed for only about 4 months before resigning in September, and publicly posted on X warning that many people inside frontline AI companies genuinely believe this technology could lead to human extinction within a decade, and that both companies are irresponsibly racing toward self-improving superintelligence, essentially gambling with the lives of all humanity.

When he left, his equity had not yet vested (companies typically begin vesting only after 6 months), so he gave up potentially massive stock gains. This occurred as Anthropic had already confidentially filed for an IPO, with a valuation approaching $1 trillion.
