BlockBeats News, September 9 - According to Fortune, blockchain analytics firm TRM Labs has completed an additional funding round on top of its existing Series C financing, doubling the company's valuation from $1 billion to $2 billion. CEO Esteban Castano did not disclose the amount of this round, only describing it as "modest" in scale, with funds coming from existing investors. Previously, TRM Labs had achieved unicorn status through a $70 million Series C round.
TRM Labs is expanding its business scope from blockchain forensics to broader cybercrime investigations, and plans to launch a new client-facing platform in November to help law enforcement agencies identify financial fraud, sextortion, and child sexual abuse crimes driven by AI and deepfake technology. Castano emphasized that AI serves as the company's "second growth engine" rather than a business transformation.
TRM Labs expects its annual recurring revenue to reach $100 million in the coming weeks. As of early September, the company had approximately 500 employees, with offices in London, Singapore, and Washington.
