Analysis: Cook has received nearly $2.4 billion in total compensation over 15 years at Apple, with stock awards accounting for over 90%.

BlockBeats News, September 7 - According to The Prism, Tim Cook received approximately $2.397 billion in total compensation during his tenure as Apple CEO from 2011 to fiscal 2025, equivalent to about RMB 16.1 billion. Of this, stock awards were valued at approximately $2.221 billion upon vesting, accounting for about 93% of total compensation; salary, cash bonuses, and other compensation totaled approximately $176 million.

The report shows that Cook's high pay sparked shareholder controversy during his tenure. In 2022, Apple's executive compensation plan for fiscal 2021 received support from only 64% of shareholders, after which Apple reduced Cook's target compensation and increased the proportion of stock awards tied to performance.

With Cook stepping down as CEO and transitioning to Executive Chairman of Apple's board, his compensation has been further adjusted. The currently disclosed plan shows his annual salary will decrease from $3 million to $2 million, and stock awards will drop from $50 million to $45 million, totaling approximately $47 million. Meanwhile, new CEO John Ternus will receive $55 million in annual stock awards, continuing the compensation structure centered on equity incentives.
