Insight Beating AI News Flash: AI data center startup Crusoe has signed a cloud services agreement worth approximately $13 billion with the quantitative trading firm Jane Street Group, with a five-year term. Under the agreement, Crusoe will provide Jane Street with an advanced AI chip cluster (GPU) and other infrastructure required for AI training and inference through its cloud platform.
Jane Street has become one of Crusoe's largest cloud business customers to date. The agreement has also further fueled investor interest in Crusoe's latest funding round. Reports indicate that Crusoe has recently raised over $3 billion, valuing the company at around $30 billion.
Crusoe initially focused on using stranded natural gas from the energy industry to power cryptocurrency mining, then shifted to the AI infrastructure sector and has partnered with Meta, Oracle, and other companies for AI computing power. With the continued growth in AI computing power demand from financial institutions and large enterprises, GPU cloud service providers are becoming key players in the AI infrastructure market.
