「Fed Speak」: Governor Waller Shows Shift, Now Cautiously Optimistic about Keeping Rates Unchanged

BlockBeats News, September 3rd, Wall Street Journal reporter Nick Timiraos, also known as the "Fed Whisperer," stated that Federal Reserve Governor Waller's overall stance has not fundamentally changed since July, but there has been a shift in policy inclination: from previous concerns and a leaning towards tightening monetary policy, to the current cautious optimism and a tendency to keep rates unchanged. The final decision will depend on the August inflation data. Waller's response path to the September 15th to 16th policy meeting has been very clear: if inflation continues to move towards the 2% target, rates will remain unchanged; if the August inflation data is elevated, they will consider a rate hike.
