Human-in-the-Loop Research Starts to Scale with AI: Conveo Raises $50 Million in Series A

Perceive Beating AI News, AI consumer research firm Conveo has completed a $50 million Series A funding round, bringing its total funding to $55.8 million. Investors include DST Global Partners, Balderton, Visionaries, 6 Degrees Capital, and Y Combinator, with the new funds primarily aimed at expansion in the United States.

Conveo's concept is straightforward: using AI to conduct interviews in place of human researchers. Consumers respond to questions via video, voice, or text, with the AI asking follow-up questions based on previous answers instead of following a static questionnaire. Hundreds of interviews can take place simultaneously, and after completion, the AI automatically organizes themes, verbatim responses, and conclusions. What used to take several weeks for qualitative research can now deliver results in as quickly as a few days.

The platform has already been integrated into the research processes of many large corporations. Conveo reports that over 400 companies are using its platform, including over 50 Fortune 500 companies such as Google, Unilever, Anheuser-Busch InBev, and Canva. The company is also transitioning from one-off interviews to long-term services, enabling AI to continuously interview consumers and accumulate each round of results into a single knowledge base.
