BlockBeats News, September 2nd. The prediction market platform Kalshi is preparing to apply to the U.S. regulatory agency to launch WTI crude oil perpetual futures, with the earliest possible approval sought as early as next week. The proposed contract will be tradable 5 days a week, 24 hours a day, with no expiry date, allowing traders to hold leveraged positions continuously without the need for periodic rollovers.
If approved by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, Kalshi may launch the first crude oil-linked perpetual futures product on a U.S.-regulated platform. This move is part of Kalshi's expansion from prediction markets and crypto assets to traditional assets, with plans to cover markets such as metals, stocks, forex, and interest rates.
