BlockBeats News, September 2nd, the total trading volume of Kalshi, Polymarket, and Polymarket US in August decreased to $45.33 billion, a 14.5% decrease from the previous month, marking the first monthly decline since August 2025.
Among them, Kalshi's August trading volume was $37.17 billion, a 7.3% decrease from July's $40.1 billion; Polymarket and its U.S. platform had a total trading volume of $8.16 billion in August, a 36.7% drop from July's $12.89 billion. Despite the overall decline, the August trading volume was still significantly higher than the $25.66 billion in May.
Previously, the prediction market's trading volume was boosted this summer by the World Cup, which took place from June 11th to July 19th, leading to a significant increase in market trading activity. Meanwhile, Kalshi and Polymarket are currently facing further scrutiny from U.S. state regulatory agencies, with over a dozen states taking enforcement actions or filing lawsuits against the two platforms, with the main controversies centered around sports-related contracts.
