BlockBeats News, September 2: DBS Bank and Stripe announced a strategic partnership aimed at accelerating Asian agent business and cross-border payment growth. The two parties will leverage DBS Bank's regional network in Asia and Stripe's global programmable financial services capabilities to help businesses seamlessly collect, move, and manage funds across different markets. The collaboration will also explore developing agent-based AI capabilities for DBS Bank customers to make transactions more efficient and secure.
DBS Bank CEO Piyush Gupta stated, "The Asian digital economy is entering a new phase of innovation and growth, with agent AI gaining attention and businesses of all sizes expanding into global markets." Fran Ryan, Chief Business Officer of Stripe, pointed out that Stripe launched in Singapore ten years ago, and now over half of the region's users are engaged in cross-border sales. This partnership will support Stripe's expansion in Asia and help it transition into a full-stack financial infrastructure provider. By 2030, agent AI is expected to orchestrate global consumer commerce worth up to $50 trillion; by 2033, the outflow of cross-border payments from Asia is projected to reach $240 trillion, accounting for 36% of the global total.
