The SEC is Considering Repealing Shareholder Proposal Rules

BlockBeats News, August 31st, according to Bloomberg, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) plans to repeal the rules regarding when and how shareholders of listed companies can submit shareholder proposals, as shown in a recent notice from the U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB).


According to the notice published on Monday, the SEC submitted the proposal to the OMB for review last week. This is the latest step taken by SEC Chairman Paul Atkins to change the dynamic of the relationship between shareholders of listed companies and company management.


In simple terms, the SEC is planning to adjust the rules governing shareholder proposal submissions by listed companies, and the proposal is currently under OMB review.
