A British man has "miraculously" recovered 330,000 pounds' worth of Bitcoin lost for 12 years in a now-defunct exchange.

BlockBeats News, August 31st, a British man named Chris lost access to his digital wallet in 2014 when the exchange platform Intersango collapsed. At that time, the wallet contained approximately £4,000 worth of Bitcoin.

At the time, the platform had over 5,000 accounts. It is believed that there may still be hundreds of millions of pounds worth of Bitcoin in an account belonging to one of the company's co-founders, and former users may be able to reclaim their funds if they can provide sufficient proof of ownership.

After years of unsuccessful attempts to contact the company, Chris had once given up, stating that watching the Bitcoin price soar was "like being punched in the gut repeatedly."

However, earlier this year, he tried again and engaged a lawyer to help prove his ownership of dozens of "lost" Bitcoins. Months later, these Bitcoins were returned to him — now worth approximately £3.3 million.
