President Trump Shares AI Video Showing the "Destruction" of Iran's Hallak Island, But US Military Actually Strikes Larak Island

BlockBeats News, August 31st. On Sunday evening, U.S. President Trump posted two AI-generated videos on Truth Social, with the caption "Khark Island obliterated." The videos showed missile strikes on an oil field, oil storage tanks, and a pier, followed by explosions.

However, there is currently no evidence that the U.S. military actually attacked Khark Island. U.S. Central Command stated that on Sunday, the U.S. military carried out a "limited and precise" strike on a unit of Iran's Revolutionary Guards responsible for mining operations, targeting Larak Island near the Strait of Hormuz. The aim was to eliminate an imminent threat to commercial shipping and civilian vessels.

It is worth noting that Khark Island is far from Larak Island, with the former located deep in the Persian Gulf and serving as Iran's main oil export hub. It remains unclear whether the AI videos shared by Trump were produced by his team, and it cannot be confirmed whether he confused Larak Island with Khark Island.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard later claimed to have launched ballistic missiles at two U.S. military bases inside Jordan. Jordan stated that its air defense systems intercepted 8 missiles, causing no casualties. Hamid Bovard, CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company, stated on Monday that oil operations on Iran's Khark Island had not ceased, refuting Trump's earlier post about the destruction of the island's key oil infrastructure.
