Genius Model GLM-5.3 Officially Open Source: Replacing MIT, Security Review Coming for Billion-Dollar Model Service Provider

Perceive Beating AI News Flash: IntellectMap has officially open-sourced the flagship 744B-parameter model GLM-5.3. The FP8 and BF16 weights have been released on Hugging Face. Unlike the previous generation GLM-5.2, this time, instead of continuing with MIT, a new "GLM-5.3 License" has been adopted.

The new license remains quite permissive for ordinary developers, allowing them to use, modify, distribute, deploy, fine-tune, and even sell the model and derivative versions. However, IntellectMap has specifically added a restriction for large-scale "Model-as-a-Service" companies: if the company and its affiliates have a total revenue exceeding $10 billion for any consecutive 12 months, commercial use of GLM-5.3 requires prior security review by IntellectMap. Ordinary products embedding the model into specific features are not subject to this restriction.

GLM-5.3 was released two weeks ago, but IntellectMap postponed the weight release at that time due to the model's network security capabilities exceeding expectations. They decided to conduct additional security assessments and fortifications before opening up the weights. The model now also supports self-deployment on frameworks such as SGLang, vLLM, Transformers, and KTransformers.
