Anthropic has abandoned its $7 billion acquisition of MatX and is now exploring a custom chip collaboration solution.

BlockBeats News, August 28th - According to Reuters, Anthropic had planned to acquire AI chip startup MatX for $7 billion, but ultimately abandoned the plan.

MatX is currently seeking around $4 billion in new financing. Anthropic is now in talks with multiple chip startups, planning to accelerate the hardware development of its AI model Claude through self-designed custom chips to reduce reliance on Nvidia chips.
