BlockBeats News, August 24th. On-chain sleuth ZachXBT stated that, after reviewing relevant evidence, he believes that the US investment platforms BitcoinIRA and iTrustCapital have experienced a potential data breach this year, but currently, neither platform has publicly disclosed the incident. The leaked information is said to include users' personal data, investment portfolio holdings, bank information, custodian details, and verification statuses.
ZachXBT mentioned that in June 2026, an attacker exploited the database information to target a BitcoinIRA user, resulting in the theft of over $1.2 million in assets. He reached out to both companies for comment on August 21st but has not received a response so far.
