Trump Increases Tariffs on Canadian Cars and Steel to 50%

BlockBeats News, August 24th, President Trump announced that he will increase tariffs on Canadian automobiles and steel to 50%.

Trump tweeted: Canada has been taking advantage of the United States for many years. They have been charging us extremely high tariffs on our farmers and agricultural products, making it very difficult for these great American patriots to make a living, and creating a long-standing $600 billion trade deficit between the two countries. This situation is unsustainable and will not continue any longer! Starting from January 1, 2027, tariffs on all automobiles, trucks, large or small, as well as auto parts and steel will be raised to 50%. If it is made in the USA, there is no tariff. Canada will no longer be treated like another state! In terms of trade or anything else, Canada is one of the most difficult countries in the world to deal with. They think they are entitled to special treatment, but the fact is, we don't need Canada, they need us! 95% of Canada's business is done with the US, and our situation with Canada is the opposite!
