Citadel Founder: Sold Over 80% of Situational Awareness Original Investment Portfolio Risk

BlockBeats News, August 21st - Citadel's founder and CEO Ken Griffin released an investor letter regarding the AI fund Situational Awareness. Ken Griffin stated that through nearly 100 block trades, they have unwound over 80% of the Situational Awareness original portfolio risk, with a total market value exceeding $4 billion, and rapidly exited most of the vega risk.

In a letter to clients on Friday, Griffin wrote, "Without the trading efforts of two firms and the close collaboration of the primary brokerage team, a transaction of this size would not have been possible. I am enormously grateful for their dedicated efforts to swiftly execute the portfolio transition." Griffin also confirmed that the firm's flagship multi-strategy Wellington fund posted a return of 5.94% in July, with CNBC previously reporting it was the fund's best monthly performance since 2022.
