Artificial Bull Market? Crypto Industry Executives Gather for Inaugural Meeting of CFTC's Innovation Advisory Committee

BlockBeats News, August 21st. In the cryptocurrency field, there has been a three-day consecutive rebound. Bitcoin briefly surpassed $75,000 this morning and is currently holding near $74,500. Following a series of positive comments on the cryptocurrency field by U.S. President Trump earlier this week, on Thursday, the Innovation Advisory Committee of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) held its first meeting, chaired by CFTC Chair Michael S. Selig.


The meeting saw a large number of cryptocurrency industry founders and executives in attendance, including:


Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, Uniswap Labs CEO Hayden Adams, Polymarket CEO Shayne Coplan;

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse, a16z crypto Managing Partner Chris Dixon, Multicoin Capital Co-Founder Tushar Jain;

Kalshi Co-Founder Luana Lopes Lara, Chainlink Labs CEO Sergey Nazarov, Gemini CEO Tyler Winklevoss;

Kraken Co-CEO Arjun Sethi, Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev, Solana Labs CEO Anatoly Yakovenko;

as well as representatives from Anchorage Digital, Grayscale, OKX, Consensys, and other companies.


Traditional financial institutions and exchange executives (such as CME Group, Cboe, Nasdaq, ICE, etc.) also attended. The focus of this meeting was on cryptocurrency regulation evolution, artificial intelligence, and predictive markets.


The U.S. CFTC Innovation Advisory Committee (IAC) was officially established on January 12, 2026. On that day, CFTC Chair Michael S. Selig announced the launch of the committee, which was renamed from the original "Technology Advisory Committee," with a focus on providing recommendations to the committee on financial technology, crypto assets, artificial intelligence, and other innovation topics.
