Stifel: NVIDIA's Earnings Report Expected to Exceed Estimates and Raise Guidance, Maintaining 'Buy' Rating and $282 Price Target

BlockBeats News, August 19th - Wall Street investment bank Stifel analyst Ruben Roy maintained a "Buy" rating and $282 price target on Nvidia (NVDA) ahead of the company's Fiscal Year 2027 Q2 earnings release on August 26th. Roy expects the company's performance for this quarter to exceed expectations and raise its future guidance.

Stifel stated that this earnings season continues to strengthen the AI demand thesis: cloud service provider capex is significantly increasing, Hon Hai's cloud networking product business revenue accounts for over 50% for the first time, and annual AI server shipment volumes are expected to more than double. Supermicro's quarterly new orders exceeded $60 billion.

Supply chain research indicates that even with Vera Rubin ramping, GB300 demand is expected to remain strong until the first half of 2027. Stifel believes this reduces the risk of a demand "air pocket" during Nvidia's product intergenerational transition.

Regarding market controversies such as storage costs and AI inference competition, Stifel believes their impact is more likely to be reflected in gross margins rather than on the demand side, and the related risks are already partially priced into the current valuation.
