Iran: No Direct Talks with the United States

BlockBeats News, August 19th - According to Xinhua News Agency, on August 19th, the Iranian Fars News Agency cited sources as saying that Iran has not engaged in any direct talks with the United States after the US violated the Iran-US Memorandum of Understanding.

The report stated that a source close to the negotiating team said that Iran's talks with the US have been suspended following the US violation of the memorandum. The talks between Iran and Oman on the issue of the Strait of Hormuz are unrelated to the US.

According to CNN on the 18th, US President Trump has instructed his negotiation team to stop contact with the Iranian side. The report, citing US officials, stated that Trump is displeased with Iran's unwillingness to meet its demands and hopes to resume contact only after Iranian leaders show a new willingness and indicate a willingness to reach the agreement he is seeking.
