Telegram is applying for the ".gram" domain name to provide unique domains for its 1 billion users.

BlockBeats News, August 19th, Telegram founder Pavel Durov announced on his personal channel that Telegram has applied for the '.gram' domain extension. If this application is approved by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), Telegram's approximately 1 billion users will have the opportunity to have their own second-level domain.

Durov gave examples where a Telegram username such as @durov could correspond to durov.gram in the future, and @monk could correspond to monk.gram. Users will also be able to host and create interactive websites on Telegram through a command.
