BlockBeats News, August 16th, the latest 13F filing of the Harvard University endowment fund revealed that as of June 30th, it still held 3.0446 million shares of the BlackRock Bitcoin Futures ETF IBIT, worth approximately $101.4 million. The holding remained unchanged from the end of the first quarter, ending two consecutive quarters of reduction. Harvard reduced its IBIT position by 21% in the fourth quarter of 2025 and by 43% in the first quarter of 2026.
Currently, IBIT accounts for about 2.4% of Harvard's disclosed $4.26 billion U.S. stock portfolio. The value of its gold-related products is higher, with holdings in iShares Gold Trust (IAU) and SPDR Gold Trust (GLD) totaling approximately $171.2 million as of the end of the second quarter. Harvard had previously liquidated its $86.8 million position in the BlackRock Ethereum Futures ETF and did not add any Ethereum-related positions in the second quarter.
Harvard University's largest holding is SpaceX, with 12,935,100 shares worth $2.21 billion, representing the largest single stock holding disclosed in the filing. The total value of U.S. stock assets disclosed by Harvard this time is about $4.3 billion, meaning the SpaceX position accounts for 52%.
Regarding other institutions, the Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund Mubadala and the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority maintained their holdings of 14.7219 million shares and 8.2187 million shares of IBIT, with a combined value of approximately $764 million. JPMorgan Chase increased its IBIT holdings from about 8.3 million shares to 10.4 million shares, while Morgan Stanley reduced its holdings from 17.3 million shares to around 16.5 million shares, a decrease of 4.5%.
