BlockBeats News, August 15th, according to an industry survey by Lazard, investors in the private equity fund secondary market are changing how they assess potential software investment targets. While waiting for further clarity on the disruptive impact of AI on business models and valuations, they often "shift their funds to other investment opportunities."
The investment bank indicated that a vast majority of respondents (91%) believe that the key moat for software companies to address the AI threat and avoid product obsolescence is the "AI-resistant proprietary data advantage and network effects."
Lazard stated that as of June this year, only 4% of respondents said that their investment approach to the software industry has not changed.
