The United States Reverses Federal Government Device TikTok Ban

BlockBeats News, August 12th. According to US sources on the 11th, the US government has revoked an order prohibiting the use of the short video social platform TikTok on federal government devices. The reason is that after the restructuring of TikTok's US business, it no longer poses a national security threat. The news stated that the Office of Management and Budget of the White House revoked the directive issued in 2023 in a memorandum on the 10th, which banned the use of TikTok on US federal government devices.

Prior to this, the US Department of Justice had issued a written opinion concluding that TikTok no longer qualifies as a regulated application under relevant laws. Since the end of 2022, the US federal government and several states have banned the use of TikTok on government electronic devices citing "data security" concerns. (CCTV News)
