Pre-Market Caution Ahead of CPI Data Drags Down US Stocks, S&P 500 Holds Ultra-Tight Range, Storage Sector Strengthens Against the Trend, SK Hynix Surges Over 4%

BlockBeats News, August 12th: According to BIT (bit.com) market data, the market remained cautious ahead of today's CPI data release. The three major U.S. stock indexes collectively closed lower, with the Nasdaq down 0.6%, the Dow down 0.34%, and the S&P 500 down 0.32%. The S&P 500 has maintained an extremely narrow intraday trading range for the fourth consecutive trading day, showing a "calm market, price volatility" trend. Large-cap tech stocks weakened for a second consecutive day, dragging down the indexes as a whole, with the Nasdaq 100 Index closing above its 50-day moving average.

There was a clear division within the AI sector, with sector rotation between software infrastructure and optical networking. AI semiconductor stocks rose slightly, but the gains were below market expectations for the $500 billion financing framework. Previously, Nvidia teamed up with six Wall Street financial giants, including Blackstone and Goldman Sachs, to establish a $500 billion financing platform for AI infrastructure development. The news failed to impress the market and instead triggered concerns about "circular financing." Google fell 3.84%, marking its largest single-day decline in nearly six months. Oracle dropped 3.71%, Cloudflare fell 1.20%, and Amazon slipped 2.09%.

The U.S. stock storage sector saw gains, with SK Hynix rising over 4%, SanDisk and Seagate Technology up over 2%, and Micron Technology up 0.87%.
