BlockBeats News, August 7th, Friday pre-market, the market is awaiting the U.S. July non-farm payroll data that is crucial for the September Fed interest rate decision. As this data will significantly impact the subsequent Fed interest rate decision, the market is holding its breath. In addition, U.S. President Trump is set to convene a meeting at the U.S. State Department on August 7th with executives from some major global mining companies to take action to "secure key mineral supplies for the U.S. and its allies."

According to Bitget market data, as of the time of writing, Dow Jones Futures are up 0.14%, Nasdaq Futures are up 0.6%, and S&P 500 Futures are up 0.27%. Additionally, according to BIT (bit.com) market data, most tech stocks are up in pre-market trading, with Micron Technology, SpaceX, and AMD all up over 1%. Cloudflare is up over 16% after earnings. In the storage sector, SanDisk is up over 2%.

On the news front, the key stock highlights are as follows:

1. SK Hynix will invest approximately 54.3 trillion Korean won (about $382.82 billion) to build two new semiconductor fabs in Icheon and Cheongju, South Korea, to expand HBM, next-generation DRAM, and NAND capacity. In addition, SK Hynix's U.S. NAND subsidiary Solidigm is planning to go public.

2. Optical communication star stock AAOI reported second-quarter revenue of $1.919 billion, an 86% year-on-year surge, with data center business breaking the billion-dollar mark for the first time and 800G product revenue doubling sequentially. More importantly, the 1.6T product is about to complete customer certification and start shipping. The management's 2027 mid-path vision shows data center transceiver monthly revenue may reach $471 million.

3. Deutsche Bank's Melissa Weathers published a research report, citing Micron management's view that the memory industry is no longer a typical cyclical industry, as AI is permanently reshaping it at the core of system architecture's value. She believes that Micron, with its leading full-stack technology from HBM to storage, coupled with strict execution discipline, has the "luxury condition" to achieve growth without sacrificing profitability, which is expected to drive strong earnings forecast upgrades and valuation reshaping.

4. According to insiders, NVIDIA is testing multiple versions of the Rubin Ultra GPU, with some alternative versions having lower HBM memory capacity than originally planned. This move is aimed at addressing supply chain bottlenecks and reflects the skyrocketing AI demand causing a shortage of high-end memory, with data center development pressures continuing to trickle downstream.

5. T-Mobile's CEO Srini Gopalan recently stated that the threats posed by Starlink and others to mobile operators have been exaggerated, and he finds it challenging to see what consumer needs these companies can actually address once they enter the mobile communications market.

6. Google's parent company Alphabet is planning to raise $25 billion through a bond issuance, leveraging a relatively attractive yield to secure one of the largest AI-related debt order books of the year. According to sources familiar with the matter, the oversubscription for this bond issuance reached approximately $115 billion, more than four times the issuance size. This ranks as the third-largest transaction by subscription size in investment-grade bond issuance this year, following only Oracle's $129 billion order book in February and Amazon's $126 billion subscription in March.

7. Apple has increased the trade-in prices for several devices and added recycling options for various Android phones, potentially offering some relief to consumers who are increasingly feeling price pressures. The trade-in price for old Apple devices has seen a nearly 30% hike on some products, while some devices have maintained their original prices, resulting in an average increase of 6.6% overall.

8. AMD has announced the acquisition of chip startup Taalas, aiming to enter the rapidly growing AI inference chip market. Specific details of the transaction have not been disclosed.

9. Cybersecurity company Cloudflare has exceeded Wall Street's profit expectations for the year. The company's financial report shows that its revenue for the second quarter reached $696.1 million, a year-on-year increase of 35.9%, surpassing expectations by $29.75 million; adjusted earnings per share were $0.29, beating the expected $0.02 per share.
