BlockBeats News, August 7, Hardware wallet manufacturer Coldcard stated that due to a security incident disclosed on July 30 involving related legal record-keeping obligations, the company has temporarily suspended the automatic deletion of customer data. Under the original policy, customer records would typically be automatically deleted after 120 days, retaining only email and country of residence information; currently, the relevant records will be retained until further notice.
Coldcard stated that customers can contact official support to request to continue processing data according to the original data retention policy, and the company will restore the automatic deletion mechanism once legally permissible.
