BlockBeats News, August 5th, ElizaOS founder Shaw wrote that the ai16z token has been declared "completely dead," and the related foundation is gradually winding down its operations. Currently, there is no funding available for token buybacks, and there will be no additional funds or token supply to support the market; Shaw himself no longer holds any related tokens and will not support the launch of the Eliza token in the future.
Shaw stated that Burwick had previously sued the project, and due to a lack of funds for legal defense, the team ultimately reached a settlement with some holders and turned over the remaining treasury and funds. He mentioned that he had never sold ai16z, and apart from a salary equivalent to other engineers, he had not profited from the project.
He mentioned that the team will continue to develop Eliza and the underlying operating system, planning to restart unaffected by token, Launchpad, and community price pressures. The Eliza-related intellectual property remains under his ownership, with future focuses on localization, privacy protection, and supporting smart body technology with encryption capabilities.
Shaw also acknowledged that he still respects blockchain technology but holds a pessimistic view of the current industry's excessive focus on speculation, market prediction, and meme coins culture; in contrast, he believes that the AI community is more focused on product development.
